Faculty of Medicine in Krasnoyarsk (Russia) ended in 1984. He worked in Krasnoyarsk Centre for Eye Microsurgery. From 1989 to 2011 he worked at the Institute Fedorova (Irkutsk) as the Head of Department. He has taught ophthalmology at the Medical University and the Institute for the training of doctors. Dr Sergei Alpatov is vitroretinal surgeon and medical doctor. It is also the author of many publications and books in the field of ophthalmology. He is a member of the European Association for the retina.
